Washington Redskins' Trademarks Cancelled by U.S. Patent Office, Ruled 'Disparaging'

United States Patent and Trademark Office has canceled the Washington Redskins’ trademarks siting that the name is "disparaging to Native Americans.” This is the most significant hit to the Redskin name to date and might put some pressure on owner Daniel Snyder to consider a name change.
