New York Jets running back Chris Johnson is adjusting to life after the Tennessee Titans, but that didn't stop him from taking a few shots at his former team. Johnson sounded off against the Titans for releasing him nearly three weeks after the start of free agency.

Johnson believes it was a little bit of revenge on the Titans part considering he held out from the Titans in 2011 in an attempt to get a new deal from the team.

“I think they was just being nasty to be honest,” Johnson told Alex Marvez and Keith Bulluck of SiriusXM NFL Radio on Tuesday night. “I love Tennessee, I love my fans and all that, but I think at the end of the day [the Titans] did me wrong. And I don’t know if it was, ‘Oh, we’re gonna get revenge back on you for holding out’ when I held out the whole training camp [in 2011] or whatever. I feel like they already knew they were going in a different direction, and it just baffles me that you release me after free agency is over and you wait until a couple days [before] it’s time to show up for offseason workouts to let me go.”

Johnson has been nothing but positive toward his former team before this outburst, but this sounds more like his true feelings. The Titans released Johnson on April 4 after weeks of failed attempts to trade the once famous CJ2K. The Jets scooped up Johnson soon after his release and will mix him into their already deep backfield.

Johnson and the Jets will play the Titans in Nashville on December 14 and that is when Johnson will get a chance to show his former team what it let go.
