Hunter Runfrow scored two straight touchdowns for Clemson on passes of 31 yards and 11 yards to give the team a 14-7 lead. Alabama missed a 44-yard field goal in between. Following the two scores, Bears tackle Jarvis Jenkins took to Twitter:

Perhaps Alabama took Patriots linebacker Dont'a Hightower's advice, because they kept feeding Henry, and he scored on a one-yard run to tie the game at 14.

Jake Coker hit O.J. Howard with a tremendous pass for a 53-yard touchdown in what was the receiver's first score of the year. It gave Alabama a 21-14 lead in the third quarter.

Clemson's Wayne Gallman scored on a one-yard run to give the Tigers a 24-21 lead, which means Chargers tackle Chris Hairston got a call from his mother.

Alabama tied the game up with 10:34 left in the fourth on a 35-yard field goal by Adam Griffith. That's when things got interesting.
The Crimson Tide recovered an on-side kick, which led to Howard scoring his second touchdown of the game on a 51-yard touchdown pass from Coker.

The teams traded scores from there, but Alabama held on to win the game, 45-40 and clinch its fourth national championship since 2009.
