James Harden, the star guard of the Los Angeles Clippers knows that he still has his three-point game, acknowledging that he's just four triples away from surpassing the legendary shooter Ray Allen.
By the time this happens, he will be the second-leading shooter-and of course, he needs to beat Stephen Curry in this milestone if he wants to be the all-time leader.
James Harden Jokes About Stephen Curry's Three-Point Leader Feat
Harden recently explained to ESPN what makes this accomplishment so significant, in praise of his career achievement and Golden State Warriors shooter Steph Curry, who sits atop all-time performers with 3,779 three-pointers.
In the viral interview, Harden laughed and talked about never being able to catch Curry because the current shooting guard simply "won't let his record go."
"I'm gonna consider myself number one," the 35-year-old joked. "Steph don't count."

Harden Loves Rivalries
While Harden concedes that this is a rivalry, he does not mind because the games are fresh in his memory. In fact, Harden says he loves the fierce battles with Curry's Warriors, which he often faced during his peak years playing for the Rockets.
In late October, Curry passed Clyde Drexler in the all-time assist leaderboard. If Harden wants to chase this feat, he has to work harder than the Chef.
Harden observed that Curry's achievements have come in such rapid succession as to seem almost impossible to recover from.
"It happened fast. Just the prime of that Rockets situation going up against that dynasty was just like real... I had to really go up against a real dynasty. It's special. I'm overly excited and proud of what he's accomplished in his career. It's one of those things and stories we can talk about when we get older and retire."
Celebrating Second Runners-Up in NBA History
Though Curry's record cannot be broken as of now, Harden believes that he could prove to himself that it's possible. He just needs to consistently shoot-and of course, play a good defense.
For former Celtics forward Paul Pierce, James Harden. is the one who changed the NBA, not Stephen Curry.
