The Ravens thrashed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday in a game where quarterback Joe Flacco exploded for five first half touchdown passes. Head coach John Harbaugh said that Baltimore's performance showed their true colors.
"You're going to find out this is a very good football team," Harbaugh said. "And to play the way we did in a game that's kind of a business game, a game we need to win to do the things we want to do, it speaks a lot to who we are as a football team."
Against Atlanta though, they may have a bit more trouble. They'll enter play ranked second in the NFL in rush defense per FootballOutsiders.com, but rank near the middle of the pack against the pass. Atlanta is a pass heavy team, and despite running a banged-up offensive line out there are a Top 10 passing offense.
Harbaugh admitted he's wary of the Falcons despite their unimpressive record. "Atlanta's good. They're going to be on turf, so they're going to be fast," Harbaugh said.
"They've got big, fast receivers. They've got fast running backs, and they got a quarterback that drives the whole thing. That's an explosive football team, and we've got to be ready for them."
The key will be holding down wide receiver Julio Jones, who had his worst game of the season last week. Even at his worst he's productive though, with four catches and 68 yards on 12 targets.
