YANKEES vs RED SOX Watch Live Stream Online & Listen: Live Coverage from NEW YORK

Tonight at 7:05 p.m. ET the New York Yankees (40-37) will continue their stretch of series against American League East opponents when they resume the greatest rivalry in baseball against the Boston Red Sox (36-43). The Yanks are 5-5 in their last 10 games, but a win on Wednesday snapped a four-game losing streak. The Yankees took five out of seven from the Sox when these teams last linked up, and New York manager Joe Girardi is hoping that Wednesday's win can whip them back into shape.

"Within the division, the games that we've played, we've played six against Toronto and three against Baltimore and now we're going to play Boston and Tampa," Girardi said. "I thought we needed to play a good game before the off day."

Putting Nuno on the hill is a dangerous move, although one necessitated by the Yanks' injury-riddled staff. Without CC Sabathia or Michael Pineda available, Nuno, who has surrendered 13 long balls at home, is the best Girardi can do. Workman, on the other hand, is relatively new to the Boston rotation. He is a promising young pitcher, and one with guts. He's coming off a suspension for throwing near the head of Rays star Evan Longoria.

Workman's primary focus will be avoiding getting beat by Yanks first baseman Mark Teixeira, who has proven healed from last year's wrist woes. With Robinson Cano gone, and Alex Rodriguez suspended all year, Texiera has filled the void of power hitter and run producer. He's hitting .241 with 14 home runs and 39 RBI.

"He's an RBI guy, he's an RBI machine," Girardi said. "He's important to our lineup and we missed him dearly last year. The big thing is that we keep him out there and we keep him going."
