YANKEES vs METS Watch Live Stream Online & Listen: Live Coverage from NEW YORK

Tonight at 7:05 p.m. ET the New York Yankees (19-17) will kick off a four-game home-and-home Subway Series matchup vs. their crosstown rivals, the New York Mets, beginning with a tilt at Yankee Stadium. Live stream the Subway Series opener by clicking this link; Yankees fans can hear the radio broadcast ton 101.9 WFAN, while Mets fans can do the same on 710 WOR. Hiroki Kuroda (2-3, 4.43 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Bronx Bombers, while Bartolo Colon (2-5, 5.36 ERA) goes for the Mets.

The Mets enter tonight coming off a rousing win that snapped a five-game skid, while the Yanks are two games over .500 but taking big hits to their starting rotation. They also had an iffy road trip that saw them tally three wins and three losses, although manager Joe Girardi felt it could've been much more successful.

We end up 3-3, and we very easily could have been 4-2, 5-1, maybe even 6-0," Girardi said. "That's the frustrating part. The guys are playing hard, we get a big at-bat from Texy in the ninth, and unfortunately we can't make it."

With the pitching injuries, Mark Teixeira's apparent return to the list of notable MLB sluggers has been welcome. In the month of May Teixeira has hit an even .300 with four home runs and 10 RBIs to go with five walks.

The Mets were surprisingly good to kick the year off, but their putrid strikeout rates have caught up to them. The win on Sunday was much needed, but don't expect Mets manager Terry Collins to panic. "Desperate? You can call it desperate if you want to, but we have to stay positive," Collins said.

Tonight's game is also significant for two other reasons. The first is marking the final Subway Series for Yankees captain Derek Jeter, barring a rematch in the World Series. Second, tonight marks the return of outfielder Curtis Granderson to the Bronx. His .185 average and measly three home runs have so far justified the Yankees' decision to let him walk, but seeing his old stomping grounds could awaken his slumbering power stroke.
