Tonight at 7:05 p.m. in the Bronx, arguably the best player in baseball, Mike Trout, will take the field for the Los Angeles Angels (10-11) against the New York Yankees (13-9) for the first of three games that can be live streamed by clicking this link. Yankees fans can listen to the game on 101.9 WFAN FM, while Angels fans can do the same on KLAA 830. They will send C.J. Wilson (2-2, 4.21 ERA) while the Yanks counter with Hiroki Kuroda (2-1, 4.07 ERA).
Wilson has a history of dominating the Yankees, but he doesn't feel it will matter much tonight after an offseason overhaul of the Bronx Bombers. "It's a different team," Wilson told the Angels' official website.
"You're bringing in a guy I've really never faced before in (Brian) McCann. (Carlos) Beltran I faced a couple times, and Ellsbury obviously was in Boston last year. So all those guys coming into the lineup, it's a very big turnover."
The Yanks are 7-3 in their last 10 games, but are still being distracted by questions about Michael Pineda's pine tar usage on the hill. Manager Joe Girardi is trying to shut that down and get focused on a fresh opponent.
"We've got three against the Angels who are playing well, so it's important that we move on, because the game of baseball does not stop," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "It's an everyday sport, not a weekly sport."
The Yanks will deal with Mike Trout, who has been in MVP form since the season began. He will enter play batting .315 with five home runs, 14 RBIs and two steals. A Yankee who has been nearly as impressive though is big-ticket center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury.
Ellsbury is batting .337, and while he has no home runs, he's socked two triples and stolen eight bases.
