Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET the No. 1 team in the country, the Syracuse Orange (25-1, 12-1 ACC) will try to rebound from their first setback of the season against the No. 5 Duke Blue Devils (21-6, 10-4 ACC) in vaunted Cameron Indoor Stadium. Both ACC bigs are coming off losses in their last game; Syracuse dropped an inexplicable game to conference cellar dweller Boston College, while Duke went through an offensive drought that cost them a rivalry game vs. UNC. These two teams went after it in a classic earlier this season, and the two previous losses haven't dimmed enthusiasm for the rematch.
"It's still a big game," Syracuse forward C.J. Fair said. "You don't want to lose two in a row."
Duke is holding their heads up high despite the tough loss, according to one of their leaders Rodney Hood. "Our nose is bloody right now," Hood said. "We've got to wipe it off and get ready for another fight. We've got to move on from it. (Losing to UNC) is a tough one to swallow, but the reality is we've got a really good team coming in on Saturday."
This matchup will be Duke's fourth contest in eight nights, an unusual workload for a college team. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski isn't hearing excuses, however, and said they need to find their "legs" to have a prayer. "If we don't" have it against Syracuse, he said, "we'll get beat on Saturday. Even if you do have it, you can get beat."
The Orange will certainly be ready, according to star point guard Tyler Ennis. "They played us tough here," Ennis said, "and we have to do the same to them down there, get back to what we do and what got us to this record."
