Nick Young, Iggy Azalea Relationship Update: 'Swaggy P,' D'Angelo Russell Drama Overblown, Says Metta World Peace

It appeared as though D'Angelo Russell's recording of Nick Young ruined more than just the trust in "Swaggy P's" relationship with rapper Iggy Azalea, but Metta World Peace believes that isn't true.

In case you live under a rock, Russell recorded Young admitting to cheating on his fiancee with a 19-year-old girl. The video eventually leaked out, putting Young's relationship with Azalea on the rocks.

Amid the turmoil in his personal life, it was said that Young and Russell's friendship was strained when the news came out and that the Lakers' locker room was impacted negatively.

Los Angeles finished with a franchise-worst 17-65 record, but that can't all be blamed on the drama since it happened so late in the season and it was the third straight year the team reached a new low in futility.

World Peace said he doesn't think there was much of an issue between Young and Russell and that the whole situation was overblown in the media.

"It wasn't like that. It wasn't that bad ... I can't say exactly like what it was," the Lakers small forward said via Terez Owens. "We gave him a little talk, because nowadays, it's like the young players that's coming into sports, they're so immature these days. They make a lot of mistakes. So, you have to always be there to pick them up."

Young and Azalea appeared to overcome their issues, but the rapper kept her fiance in the doghouse for quite some time. They were then seen out together having a good time, which led to speculation that they were overcoming the issues.

Azalea made it clear that she wasn't okay with what Young did behind her back, and even threatened bodily harm on him should he ever do it again. She then made a public request for her privacy, despite openly answering questions about the scandal.

Most recently, breakup rumors surrounded the couple as it's possible the wedding, which was already pushed back prior to the scandal, is off.

While it's unknown what's going on between Young and Azalea, World Peace insists things are fine between "Swaggy P" and Russell.
