The fourth and final matchup for Thursday's slate of games will see Duke battle Oregon in March Madness Sweet 16 action.
The Blue Devils downed UNCW, 93-85, on Mar. 17 and then handed Yale a 71-64 loss last Saturday to advance to the Round of 16. Grayson Allen led the way with 29 points in Duke's latest win, while Brandon Ingram put up 25. Allen has averaged a team-best 26 points per game up to this point.
The Ducks dominated Holy Cross, 91-52, on Mar. 18 and followed it up with a 69-64 win over Saint Joseph's last Saturday to get this far. Dillon Brooks put up 25 points in Oregon's latest win, while Elgin Cook notched 18. Brooks leads the team in points per game (18) thus far as Cook has paced it in rebounds (8.5) and assists (4).
Oregon has some added inspiration entering this meeting.
"I know a lot of the guys are really motivated," Brooks told ESPN. "We've been watching Duke all our lives, and once we see the lettering, 'D-U-K-E,' we're going to come out there with red on our face and just really take it to them."
Duke has advanced to the Sweet 16 for the 15th time since 1998 and will look to topple Oregon to continue its road through March Madness.
"I'm proud of our team," coach Mike Krzyzewski said per ESPN. "Young, kind of limited in numbers, but they've really grown tough together and earned their way here."
The winner of this meeting will face the victor of the other West bracket game between Texas A&M and Oklahoma in the Elite Eight.
