The Cardinals (11-2) are now the betting favorites to win the Super Bowl among NFC contenders. Following the Panthers’ loss to the Falcons on Sunday, the Cardinals moved to +350, while Carolina stayed at +500 per Bovada. The Cardinals being the favorites, however, hurts their value as a choice for you to place a wager.
Seattle Seahawks (9-6)
The Seahawks may have lost on Sunday to the Rams, which hurts their momentum to most, but the Rams have played them tough since last year. Don’t ding the Seahawks too much for dropping a rivalry game, especially when the Cardinals had the NFC West in a stranglehold.
Cam Newton Should Pray Tom Brady Wins MVP
The Seahawks are +750 to win the Super Bowl, long odds for a team that has made it to two consecutive championship games, and was one-yard away from repeating. QB Russell Wilson had gone five straight games without an interception before Sunday, piling up 18 touchdown passes in that span.
Defensively, they have shored up most of their problems – namely the cornerback position opposite Richard Sherman – and they’re back in the Top 5. With the passing game humming and the defense reverting to their 2014 level, these long odds are tremendous value.
Seahawks Better Off Without Marshawn Lynch This Season
Also, don’t be scared that Seattle will be on the road for most of their journey. The 12th Man hasn’t been as much of an advantage this year as it was in seasons past.
Carolina Panthers (14-1)
Carolina lost to the lowly Falcons Sunday, so that means they’ve been exposed and have no shot in the playoffs right? Not so fast. It looks bad to lose to Atlanta, but every contender has weird losses. The Patriots just lost to the Eagles and the Cardinals dropped a game to the Rams. Losses happen in the NFL, but they still have the MVP, and they will have home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs in all likelihood.
