Eddie Lacy is tired of your fat-shaming. The Packers’ running back is off to a slow start in 2015, but he doesn’t believe it’s because he’s “fat.” Eddie Lacy wants you to know that running backs come in all shapes and sizes.
“I’m not the smallest person,” Lacy said. “Brandon Jacobs wasn’t the smallest person. Jerome Bettis wasn’t the smallest person. Some people can just play like that, not that I’m Jerome Bettis’ weight or nothing like that. I’m just saying, not everybody’s meant to look like Adrian Peterson or somebody like that.”

Lacy’s right, and he went about addressing criticism way better than Sammy Watkins handled fans questioning his toughness after yet another injury. Watkins lashed out on Instagram, and even though the post is deleted, his words live forever on the internet.
"I'm not first or last person that's gone be injured difference from me and you guys y'all mad and I'm not get a life and goto work stop worrying about my job because I'm good on this end and forever will be losers most of you just wish to be in this position so continue working y'all little jobs for the rest of y'all lives since everyone once a response here go one have a blessed day."

Yikes. Lacy also made another solid point. Fans don’t pay his bills, the Packers’ front office does. So until they express displeasure with Lacy’s body type, he can keep on keepin’ on.
“It’s based off of photos that float around, so that’s not none of my concern until it comes from the guy upstairs on the third floor. Until it comes down from there, I’m not concerned about it.”
In defense of Lacy’s critics though, he has been pretty bad. Lacy hasn’t gotten to 100 yards once this season, nor has he scored since Week 1. He’s rushed 16 times for 30 yards in his last two games, and against the Chargers his backup, James Starks, had a single run (75 yards) that went longer than his total output in four of the six games he’s played this season.
Lacy did injure his ankle in Week 2 vs. the Seahawks, and head coach Mike McCarthy seemed to hint recently it’s been quietly affecting his play.
"He looks good just watching him work out Monday in the individual stuff," McCarthy said. "I don’t think the injury is affecting him anymore."
