The NLDS just ended, but CM Punk is already getting into it with Mets fans on Twitter ahead of his Cubs battling the Amazin's in the NLCS, which starts Saturday.
The former WWE Superstar-turned-UFC fighter has never been shy about being outspoken, and often enjoys getting into verbal wars with people, especially over sports teams. In June, he even took malicious aim at wrestling legend Hulk Hogan when his Blackhawks battled the Lightning in the Stanley Cup Final.
Paul Heyman Skeptical Of CM Punk's UFC Debut
Now, he's taking aim at Mets fans on Twitter after the club defeated the Dodgers, 3-2, in Game 5 to advance to its first NLCS since 2006. Chicago will play in its first championship series since 2003 (Steve Barton anyone?).
Both of these franchises are starved of championships, with the Mets having two in their history, the last coming in 1986, and the Cubs having not won the MLB's crown since notching their only World Series title in 1908.
Mets Haters Give Team Kudos On Twitter
Now, with the Mets and Cubs battling it out to see who will represent the National League in the Fall Classic, Punk is already on edge and letting Mets fans have it.

Don't worry New York, I'll be bringing proper pizza with me. Your stuff don't measure up.

And they're going to need me to win. Too bad I'm with the @Cubs https://t.co/B0mWSDnlm5 — Coach (@CMPunk) October 16, 2015
I'm not surprised mets fans don't understand the concept of throwing out a first pitch.

The "Best in the World" has yet to announce the details surrounding his UFC debut, but he's practicing by sparring with the New York faithful on Twitter.
