Rihanna may not love the way Matt Barnes lies, but the Memphis Grizzlies role player is sticking to his story.
Barnes claimed that he and the R&B singer got "past the crush stage," while Rihanna says he made the whole thing up and that she actually never met him. With the NBA season opening up for Memphis on Oct. 28 against the Cavaliers, TMZ caught up with Barnes and he stuck to his story.

"I'm too grown to lie," Barnes told TMZ. "So it is what it is. I'm too grown to lie my man."
As for having any type of falling out with Rihanna, the small forward downplayed any ill feelings.

"I ain't got no beef with nobody," Barnes said. "I ain't got no reason. There ain't no reason to have beef."
While his stories off the court may be more entertaining than his performance on it, Barnes said he "feels confident" and "ready" for the upcoming season as Memphis looks to improve upon a 55-27 finish to last season. Last spring saw the Grizzlies get bounced from the playoffs in the Western Conference semifinals at the hands of the eventual NBA champion Warriors.
