Cleveland Cavaliers Rumors: Injury Updates For Matthew Dellavedova, Iman Shumpert [VIDEO]

The Cleveland Cavaliers are up 2-1 on the Golden State Warriors heading into tonight’s Game 4 clash, and the banged-up Cavaliers received some good news about two important perimeter players they will need to keep their momentum.

Matthew Dellavedova, one of the Game 3 heroes, was taken to the hospital after a 20-point, four-rebound, four-assist performance in more than 38 minutes. Dellavedova was suffering from severe cramps afterward and skipped media availability to receive IV treatments.

Dellavedova was a role player all season but has been pressed into full-time duty after point guard Kyrie Irving fractured his kneecap in Game 1. Cavaliers head coach David Blatt said he intends to limit Dellavedova’s minutes in Game 4, but was rebuffed.

Blatt also said he expects Iman Shumpert, Cleveland’s top perimeter defender aside from LeBron James, to suit up for Game 4. He injured his shoulder in the first half of Game 3 but did return to the game.

Shumpert has been crucial to Cleveland’s stifling defense on Golden State’s “Splash Bros.” Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Both have struggled to find their shot in this series, and have been forced to lean on forwards Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes, and Andre Iguodala to pick up the slack.

So far that trio hasn’t lived up to the task, and the Warriors find themselves trying to avoid a 3-1 hole.
