It's hard to imagine San Francisco 49ers fans being mad at anything quarterback Colin Kaepernick does these days.
But he found a way.
Kaepernick was spotted at a Fourth of July party wearing a Miami Dolphins hat, according to several media outlets. No outlet specifically revealed the location of the party, but MiamiNewTimes.com reported that Kaepernick's Twitter account has placed him in Los Angeles.
Two photos showed Kaepernick in the Miami gear. The first picture appeared on Reddit, and the website thephinsider.com posted another shot of Kaepernick in the Dolphins uniform.
A former University of Nevada star, Kaepernick took over as the 49ers starting quarterback midway through last season and led San Francisco to the Super Bowl, where it narrowly lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 34-31.
Kaepernick has enjoyed hero's status since his meteoric rise, but received several negative comments about his choice of apparel.
Kaepernick let out his frustration on his Instagram account Friday:
"This the hat y'all mad at? I'm goin wear what I want regardless of what you think, all you need to worry about is the fact that I grind for my teammates and the 49ers! I plan on doin this until they won't let me in the building! #ridiculous #y'allmustbebored"
Along with the message is another photo of Kaepernick making a face while holding the Miami Dolphins hat.
Kaepernick owns more than 400 pairs of shoes as well as an impressive collection of baseball caps from numerous sports teams, including the Dolphins.
He also is signed with the 49ers for two more seasons, so there's no possibility he would leave for any other team before then.
Kaepernick threw for 1,814 yards with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions during his seven starts in the regular season for San Francisco in 2012. He also ran for 415 yards with five rushing TDs.
