Reports surfaced this week that injured WWE Superstar Roman Reigns could return by December or January and the WWE has started to advertise him for live events.

Daniel Bryan's In-Ring Career Could Be In Jeopardy Amid Need For Second Surgery

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, the WWE is promoting a Reigns appearance for the Dec. 26 live event in Chicago and he is also scheduled to appear two days later in Pittsburgh. This means that Reigns could conceivably be back by the end of the year.

Reigns has also been penciled in for the Royal Rumble event on Jan. 25, 2015, live from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Two Title Matches Rumored For Survivor Series

Reigns underwent emergency hernia surgery on Sept. 20 which canceled his match against Seth Rollins at Night of Champions on Sept. 21 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Reigns cut a video promo on Monday Night RAW vowing to seek revenge on Rollins when he returns since the two never got to have their match.

For the live events Reigns is advertised for, the WWE has stated he will take on Corporate Kane in a singles match both nights in what would be his first action since the injury.

Since the breakup of The Shield over the summer, there have been big plans for Reigns to become the next top guy in the WWE and those plans were set to evolve over the course of the fall and increase rapidly by 2015.

There have been rumors that Reigns is penciled in to win the 30-man over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble Match and go on to face the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 in Santa Clara, Calif.

The early speculation was that the Rumble Match would boil down to the three former Shield members and that Reigns would out-last Rollins and Dean Ambrose to win the match and earn the title shot.

Cena was also expected to face Lesnar for the gold at the Royal Rumble, but he is being advertised for the Rumble Match as well by the venue. Cena became the No. 1 contender for the title at Hell in a Cell in Dallas on Sunday night, but it's unknown when he'll get his shot.

While Cena is advertised for the Rumble Match, it is still likely he'll face Lesnar at the event and the advertisement from the Wells Fargo Center was likely incorrect.

There has been a lot of speculation that Reigns is slated to face Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 where he is expected to walk out with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

It appears as though Reigns will return just in the nick of time to continue his big push.
