"I'm actually trying to forgive. I'm asking God to give me the strength to be able to forgive. I'm an angry person right now because I'm never going to see my baby," Ward said to 7News.

Hernandez and two other men are accused of driving Lloyd to an industrial park near Hernandez's North Attleborough mansion and shooting him execution style. Ward doesn't believe that Lloyd ever thought he might be in danger.

"Knowing my son, if he knows that his life was in danger he wouldn't have gone with anyone," Ward said.

She also told 7News that although over a year has passed since Lloyd died, she's still not over it.

"It's not getting any easier. It's getting harder and harder because you are actually facing reality that you are never going to see your child again," Ward said. "I miss most of all my son's smile." Ward admitted to 7News that she still visits Lloyd's grave twice a day to take care of the flowers.

Currently Hernandez's trial is set to begin in January 2015, with jury selection staring on January 9. Superior Court Judge E. Susan Garsh reportedly has ordered 1,000 people be brought in to fill out questionnaires with individual interviews of potential jurors to happen later in the month.

Hernandez is also facing murder charges in a separate double homicide from 2012. He's accused of killing Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu in a drive-by shooting after a dispute in a Boston nightclub.
