Tonight at 7:05 p.m. ET the Baltimore Orioles (63-48) will look to put some distance between themselves and the Toronto Blue Jays (60-53) when the battle of the birds resumes in Toronto. Live stream the game online by clicking this link; fans of the Orioles can listen to the action on 1090 WBAL, while Blue Jays fans may do the same on SN590. Bud Norris (8-7, 3.69 ERA) will start for the first place O's against Mark Buehrle (11-7, 3.11 ERA).
After a 7-4 road trip Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said the team is happy to be home. "Everybody is tired," Gibbons said. "It was a good road trip, it could have been a great one, but we have a welcome day off (Monday) and then we play the team we're chasing."
Despite a three-game losing streak, Gibbons thinks his club is playing solid baseball and can make a dent in the Orioles lead in this important series.
"We've been playing good baseball," Gibbons told MLB's official website. "The last three games didn't go our way, pure and simple. But (now) we play the teams that matter. Baltimore, then Detroit and Seattle, three really good teams ... we'll have a little bit better idea where we're at after that."
The Blue Jays starter, Buehrle, finally escaped the deep hole he'd sunk in during his last start by beating the Red Sox for his first victory since June 1. "I try to stay even-keel whether I'm doing good or bad," Buehrle said.
"But there are times when you go out there and get your butt handed to you a few times -- there's a thought in the back of your mind, like 'Am I done? Can I still get it done?' ... Maybe it's myself driving myself crazy, but this definitely feels good."
