Today at 3:10 p.m. ET, the West Region action continues when two high-octane offenses clash on TruTv. No. 7 Oregon vs. No. 10 BYU can be live streamed for free by clicking this link; Oregon Ducks fans can find the radio broadcast on KUGN 590 AM, while Cougar backers can listen to the game on 1280 The Zone.
The Ducks and Cougars met early in the season, with BYU nearly escaping the Ducks' home court with a victory. They led big at the half, but eventually fell in overtime. Neither side seems to be expecting the same kind of game, however.
"We've definitely grown since that game, so obviously they've grown and come a long way, too," Oregon forward Mike Moser said. "It will probably be a really different game."
BYU guard Tyler Haws has been one of the premier players in college basketball this year, even though he's underrated. Haws has put up 23.4 points per game this year, and will be leaned on even more without fellow backcourt mate Kyle Collinsworth.
Collinsworth, who leads the team with 8.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game was injured in the conference tournament against Gonzaga and has been ruled out for the Big Dance. "It just means that everyone has to be more aggressive and step up to the challenge," junior guard Anson Winder said.
Initially after losing Collinsworth the team "was an emotional wreck with our guys," according to coach Dave Rose. "But for the most part, I think hopefully physically and emotionally in our practice we have moved on from the loss of Kyle."
Oregon has been a Jekyll and Hyde act this year, opening the season on a 13-game winning streak, then losing eight of their next 10 games, and getting back on track to upset Arizona to end the season. "A month ago, this didn't look like it was going to happen," Ducks coach Dana Altman said.
