Today at 1:00 p.m. ET the No. 1 Florida Gators (29-2, 18-0 SEC) will begin their SEC Tournament against the unranked Missouri Tigers (22-10, 9-9 SEC), who are looking to battle their way to an at-large bid to the Big Dance which begins next week. Watch the game on ESPNU or live stream if for free by clicking this link. Gators fans can find the radio broadcast on ESPN 850 WRUF, while Mizzou fans can do likewise on ESPN 100.5.
Gators coach Billy Donovan knows his team is probably the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament this year regardless of their performance in the SEC tourney, but he's not even looking past today's unranked opponent.
"If we're playing in Orlando, that's great," Donovan said. "But our goal right now would be to try to put three games together and play in a championship game on Sunday."
Missouri needs this game far more than Florida, but the Gators haven't lost an SEC game all season, and are coming off a season-ending thrashing of the talented Kentucky Wildcats last weekend. That layoff may work against Donovan's boys today, which he has been vocal about.
"None of that stuff is obviously ideal. We'll have to go out there and play (Thursday) regardless," Donovan said. "That was just something I would say we need to look at. But I think our guys will be excited about playing. Regardless where it is, we'll have time to get prepared and ready to play."
For Mizzou to walk away with a win, halting senior Casey Prather will be paramount. He leads Florida in scoring with 14.6 points per game, and has been a deadeye shooter from 3-point range, connecting at a 40 percent clip. Overall he's hitting 62.5 percent of his attempts from the field, and has generally been a problem for all opponents this season.
