Canelo Alvarez vs Alfredo Angulo WATCH LIVE STREAM ONLINE: Carlos Molina still in jail, Jermall Charlo fight canceled

Tonight Canelo Alvarez will step in the ring for the first time since getting taught a boxing lesson by Floyd Mayweather Jr. in September of 2014 when he takes on Alfredo Angulo on a Showtime pay-per-view event televised live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Live stream the event by clicking this link.

The fight will be for redemption for both fighters, who each lost their last time out Canelo's flameout was one of the most watched fights in the sport's history, while Angulo acquitted himself fairly well against Erislandy Lara, knocking him down twice but getting pounded outside of those two flashes. He was forced to quit in the 10th round of that matchup after fracturing his orbital bone.

Both men enter with reputations for power punching, and the threat of a knockout has risen with a negotiated weight increase.

"Both guys agreed to change the weight to 155," Golden Boy Promotions chief executive Richard Schaefer said. "And the parties agreed to the 168 limit (on Saturday) and Angulo got extra money. If it would have been a title fight I think Canelo would have made 154. But it's not and everybody is happy with the arrangement that was made."

"I think it was fair and the right thing. We were ready to make 154 pounds and they weren't," Mike Miller, Angulo's manager, told ESPN.com. "Make him pay in the pocketbook if you can't squeeze him in weight."

On the undercard, Leo Santa Cruz serves as the main attraction directly beneath the main event, but he wasn't the biggest story. That was IBF junior middleweight champ Carlos Molina, whose first title defense had to be scrapped when he was arrested for outstanding warrants for failure to register as a sex offender and immigration problems.

He was going to fight Jermall Charlo, but that's gone up in smoke. Now the undercard will be carried by Santa Cruz, stepping in the squared circle with Cristian Miares, and Nihito Arakawa, who will face Jorge Linares.
