WWE Rumors [VIDEO]: Elimination Chamber 2014 To Feature Title Unification Match Between Dean Ambrose And Big E Langston?

The WWE unified the World Heavyweight Championship and WWE Championship into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs in December, and now it seems the company is planning on unifying two midcard titles as a rumored title-for-title match between Intercontinental Champion Big E Langston and United States Champion Dean Ambrose is being talked about for February's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, a unification match between Langston and Ambrose is likely to happen on Feb. 23 at the Target Center in Minneapolis at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view which is the final stop before the WrestleMania XXX pay-per-view event on April 6 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

Ambrose and Langston spoke to WWE.com in an interview about possibly unifying the titles last month, perhaps as a way to hint at the match happening in the future, which seems to be Elimination Chamber.

"I feel that what I've given and sacrificed for the U.S. Title, I'd be willing to put that on the line as a pride thing." Ambrose told WWE.com. "It's just as good as the Intercontinental Title. That's something I'd be willing to prove."

Added Langston per WWE.com: "I'd be open to it. If it strengthens the legitimacy of both titles, then I'm all for it."

The WWE has been pushing Langston recently so it would seem as though he would likely be the one to walk away from the event with both titles. Randy Orton and John Cena went head-to-head at TLC to unify the two major titles in the company and now it looks as though the WWE is preparing to do that again.

Langston said he would "welcome the challenge" of having the match while he also said he wasn't sure how people would feel about the unification match.

"I can't remark on how people would feel positively or negatively, but it would definitely bring more attention to the titles," he told WWE.com.

Ambrose weighed the positives and negatives of unifying the belts.

"On the one hand, you'd have fewer titles for people to go for. On the other, it would be a prize that people would definitely want to come after," Ambrose said via WWE.com.

It remains to be seen if the WWE will pull the trigger on the match, but with the Royal Rumble less than two weeks away and Elimination Chamber following soon after, it will be interesting to see if the WWE begins to hint at the match as the road to WrestleMania XXX begins.
