The plans have changed several times backstage when it pertains to the card for WWE's WrestleMania XXX event on April 6 in New Orleans, and while there were reports that the rumored match between John Cena and Bray Wyatt may have been nixed, reports indicate that the WWE still plans on having the two face each other at the biggest show of the year.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE still wants to have Cena face Wyatt at WrestleMania XXX. PWInsider noted this week that the WWE planned on having Wyatt win the Royal Rumble match and face John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship before they decided to unify the titles at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs.
Reports then indicated that now that WWE had put the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on Randy Orton, it had changed its plans. It was rumored that Batista would win the Rumble match and then meet Orton in the main event at WrestleMania, but there is a possibility that Cena beats Orton for the title and Wyatt wins the 30-man over-the-top-rope match at the Royal Rumble.
If that doesn't happen, the WWE reportedly is still planning on having a Cena and Wyatt match at WrestleMania while Orton and Batista would likely be for the title. It seems no matter what happens at the Royal Rumble, Cena will take on Wyatt.
Regardless of whether or not the title is in the picture, the match still may close the show because Vince McMahon told the creative team that Cena deserves to be in the main event.
"Cena is the main event until his time is clearly up. That man feeds us!" McMahon reportedly said last week to writers and producers, according to Wrestlingheadlines.com.
It was reported earlier this week that Cena was set to be involved in some capacity with Hulk Hogan and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper at the big event, but it remains to be seen if those legends will be thrown into his storyline with Wyatt.
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, The Undertaker asked to work with Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania XXX. It had been rumored for months that Taker would be taking on Brock Lesnar at the event and that if the WWE didn't think the match would work then Sheamus would go after the dead man's streak.
According to the report, The Undertaker had asked to work with Bryan but it's uncertain if it was discussed internally with the creative team. Bryan was rumored to take on "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels if he was willing to come out of retirement for one more match, but it remains to be seen if HBK would come back for WrestleMania.
WrestleMania XXX plans remain up in the air, but it would seem as though the WWE is still pushing for a Wyatt and Cena match at the show.
