Florida has won seven of its last eight games while Winnipeg has lost four of its last five games heading into tonight's matchup. The first time these two teams met, the Panthers defeated the Jets 5-2 in Florida on Dec. 5.

The Jets are coming off of a 4-2 loss at the hands of the Buffalo Sabres Tuesday night that saw the team squander an early lead.

"We thought they would just fold up," Jets head coach Claude Noel told Fox News of taking the early lead. "Obviously that wasn't the case."

The Panthers defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-2 on the road on Thursday and will look to continue their success.

"Everybody's starting to play better as a group and understanding each other and trusting each other and starting to believe in each other," Panthers general manager Dale Tallon told Fox Sports Florida. "So those are all the things that have combined for us to turn things around here and get back into the playoff hunt."

The Panthers have been led by Tomas Fleischmann, who has 19 points off of five goals and 14 assists while Scottie Upshall has lit the lamp six times and added 12 assists for 18 points and Brian Campbell has four tallies and 12 helpers for 16 points.

Bryan Little has paced the Jets with 31 points off of 14 goals and 17 assists while Blake Wheeler has 11 markers and 14 helpers for 25 points and Dustin Byfuglien has found the back of the net six times and added 18 assists for 24 points.

This unit will likely have to try and beat Scott Clemmensen, who is 4-2-1 with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage while Ondrej Pavelec is likely to start for Winnipeg and is 10-14-4 with a 2.90 GAA and a .908 save percentage.

The Panthers will look to keep their winning trends going while the Jets try and bounce back from a rough loss when the puck drops tonight at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
