Nick Saban Rejects Texas: Billboard in Tuscaloosa Gloats Over Coach's Decision To Stay at Alabama [VIDEO]

Trash-talking in Alabama has found a new venue: billboards.

USA TODAY Sports' For The Win is reporting that a self-storage company in Alabama bought a billboard that says "We Messed With Texas!" with an Alabama "Roll Tide" next to the company's name, All-American Self Storage.

The billboard was in response to a report that Texas regents were trying to lure Saban away to coach the Longhorns. They even were rumored to have made an offer that reached eight figures to the successful Alabama leader.

Saban agreed to a contract extension with the Crimson Tide almost a week ago for a reported $7 million to $7.5 million.

For The Win reported that at even 700 miles away, Alabama fans were gloating about retaining the coach and causing the Texas coaching search that apparently started with Saban to have to move on to a second choice.

Apparently, All-American Self Storage forgot that it was Saban's agent, Jimmy Sexton, who told a pair of Texas regents back in January that Texas was the only program Saban would consider exiting Alabama to coach.

Sexton reportedly said the success Saban had with the Crimson Tide created special pressure on him. The Associated Press found out about the conversation through an open-records request in November of Hicks' emails on Sept. 24.

Saban's wife also chimed in on the pressure, saying in November, "You come to a crossroads and the expectations get so great, people get spoiled by success and there gets to be a lack of appreciation," Terry Saban said in a November interview, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. "We're kind of there now."

Saban was back to his usual self when he got annoyed over media's questions about former USC coach Lane Kiffin's visit to the Crimson Tide program earlier this week.

So not only did Saban get more money even though he said Texas was never a consideration, but he also generated public support after talking about how much pressure was on him because of the Tide fans' expectations.
