Today at 1:00 p.m. ET, the New York Rangers (13-12-0, 26 points) and the Boston Bruins (16-17-2, 34 points) faceoff live from the TD Garden in Boston. The game can be live streamed here. New York comes into Boston to close out a five-game road trip that has seen the team go 3-1-0 thus far through the first four games while Boston will look to continue its dominant performances over the Rangers after eliminating them in five games during last year's Stanley Cup Playoffs and topping them again 2-1 at Madison Square Garden in New York on Nov. 19.
Though the Bruins have dominated the Rangers in their last few games, it was Boston who was dominated Wednesday night in Detroit as the Red Wings handed them a 6-1 loss.
"Everything we did tonight was just disastrous," coach Claude Julien told NHL.com following the team's worst loss of the season. "We need to show more determination toward the net than we did. Right now, we're [settling for] a lot of perimeter stuff and criss-crossing, and that's why you see guys running into each other."
The Rangers bounced back from their only loss on the road trip with a 5-2 victory over the Florida Panthers Wednesday night.
"We made some great plays at the right time tonight," goalie Henrik Lundqvist said. "It felt it was a game of some mistakes, but we made them pay a couple of times. Special teams came up big."
Lundqvist is 8-10-0 with a 2.48 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage for New York while Boston goalie Tuukka Rask has stymied the Rangers in recent games and is 13-6-2 overall with a 1.89 GAA and a .938 save percentage.
Rask will look to stop a Rangers group that is led by Brad Richards, who has seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points while Derek Stepan also has 17 points off of five tallies and 12 helpers and Mats Zuccarello has lit the lamp three times and added 11 assists for 14 points.
Milan Lucic (nine goals, nine assists) and David Krejci (four goals, 14 assists) each have 18 points to pace the Bruins while Reilly Smith has found the back of the net five times and added 12 helpers for 17 points.
The Rangers will try to end their road trip on a strong note while the Bruins hope that they can continue their dominance over New York when the puck drops at the TD Garden in Boston this afternoon.
