Tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET, the Chicago Blackhawks (14-4-4, 32 points) and the Winnipeg Jets (10-10-3, 23 points) faceoff live from the MTS Centre in Winnipeg in the third of four meetings this season. The game can be live streamed here. Chicago fans can hear all of the action by adjusting their radios to WGN-AM 720 while Winnipeg fans can do the same on TSN 1290.
Chicago continues a long road trip tonight while Winnipeg enters play knowing that it can climb to above .500 with a win tonight. This is the third time these teams are meeting this month, with the Blackhawks winning the prior two meetings with a 5-1 victory over the Jets in Winnipeg on Nov. 2 and then defeating them 4-1 in Chicago on Nov. 6.
The Blackhawks opened their road trip in a negative way, suffering a 5-1 loss to their Central Division rival Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday.
"It was a tough game right from the start," defenseman Brent Seabrook said via NHL.com. "I thought we gave a good push back in the second period. For the whole second period it was a pretty good period and we had some chances there and we just couldn't capitalize."
The Jets are 4-1-1 in their last six, but lost their latest game on Monday in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Calgary Flames.
"We'll take the one [point]," coach Claude Noel told NHL.com. "It's not ideal, but that's what we'll take."
Bryan Little has been the scoring leader for the Jets, putting up 21 points off of 12 tallies and nine helpers while Andrew Ladd and Dustin Byfuglien have each netted five goals and 12 assists for 17 points.
The Blackhawks, meanwhile, have been paced by Patrick Kane, who has an eight game point streak and 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points while Patrick Sharp has seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points and captain Jonathan Toews has found the back of the net 10 times and added nine helpers for 19 points.
It was a tough game for goalie Corey Crawford, who was pulled in the first period Tuesday after allowing three goals on seven shots. On the season, he is 13-4-3 with a 2.55 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage. Ondrej Pavelec is 8-8-2 in the crease for Winnipeg this season and has a 2.74 GAA and a .915 save percentage.
The Blackhawks will look to correct the early flubs in their road trip while Winnipeg will try to stay hot when the puck drops at the MTS Centre tonight in Winnipeg.
