Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET the Miami Heat (8-3) who stumbled out of the gate will go for their fifth consecutive victory when they take on the Orlando Magic (4-6) at the Amway Center in NBA action that can be live streamed here. Heat fans can listen to the game on 560 WQAM, while Magic fans may do the same on AM 580 WDBO.
The Heat blew out the Atlanta Hawks Tuesday night for their fourth straight win, and questions about Miami's chemistry in their second title defense have gone out the window.
"We're very confident in our lineup we got, man," LeBron James said. "Those guys continue to play well. They continue to work together and it's great to have a Hall of Famer in that lineup with Ray [Allen] coming back." Allen notched Miami's first 12 points of the fourth quarter in the win.
Point guard Mario Chalmers was pleased to see Miami's stout defense return. "We just try to get out in transition, let our defense be our offense most of the time and keep working from there," Chalmers said.
The Magic have a promising nucleus, headlined by rookie guard Victor Oladipo, but recently he's hit some hard times including a nine-turnover effort in Orlando's last game. "I just have to perform better in those circumstances," Oladipo said. "It was a close game and I have to learn to execute in those times. Most of it, really, is on me."
Magic head coach Jacque Vaughn concurred. "If we didn't have those turnovers down the stretch, maybe the game could have been different," Vaughn said. "We need to learn to value the basketball whether it's the first quarter or the fourth quarter."
If Orlando's going to win this game, they'll need center Nikola Vucevic to have a big game against Miami's slight frontcourt. Their leading rebounder is Chris Bosh (5.7 RPG), while Vucevic posts 11.4 boards a night.
