With only one week before the trade deadline ends, news of trade rumors amongst teams has been the subject of online news nowadays. One player that's been frequently mentioned in this trade deals is Denver Nuggets forward Wilson Chandler. And it looks like one team that might consider of adding him is the New York Knicks.

The New York Knicks had a below par performance for a couple of months right now. They lost 7 out of their last 10 games and appear to be heading to disappointing season again this year. Part of their recent decline is their slumping defense which currently ranks 25th in defensive efficiency in the league.

According to USA Today, rumors are spreading that Wilson Chandler wants out of Denver. Persons close to Chandler are saying that the 29-year old forward ask for a trade from the Nuggets. It was believed that there is a growing frustration on Chandler side after some confusion with his role to the team.

From being a starter at the beginning of the season he was relegated to the second unit even he is averaging 15.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game this season, a career best for him being in the league for 8 years already. And if rumors are true, the Knicks might consider of acquiring his services.

According to FOXSports, if the New York Knicks wants to turn their season around, it should begin with their defense. The Knicks are allowing 108.6 points to opponents per 100 possession a big letdown from their last year rating. Looking for a defensive minded player is the best move for them.

And Wilson Chandler is an ideal option for them as he great defender both on the wing position and even in the power forward spot for teams that playing small-ball plays as per stated in the report. It could be a reunion of sorts for him as he already played for Knicks franchise, who drafted him in 2007, for almost 4 seasons.
