Trade rumors about Jahlil Okafor start to swirl again in the news as of late. As the Philadelphia 76ers continues to slide down the standings, many pundits are saying that they should make a move of tweaking their lineup while it is still early. Now, recent reports are spreading that they are having talks with the New Orleans Pelicans for a possible trade.

Currently, the 76ers are at the 14th spot in the Eastern Conference division holding an 18-34 win-loss record. They've shown some brilliance last January, winning 10 games out of 15 but they haven't won a single game this month. And it appears that they are again heading to another disappointing season this year.

On the other hand, Okafor has been a familiar name in the rumor mills the past few months. The 76ers coaching staff is having a hard time of rotating their overcrowded frontcourt with Okafor, Joel Embiid and Nerlens Noel sharing playing minutes. Latest news is saying that Philadelphia is now taking steps on moving him to the Pelicans.

According to CBSSports, reports are spreading that the Philadelphia 76ers and New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly having a discussion regarding a Jahlil Okafor trade. The 76ers are said to be looking for a first-round pick from the Pelicans and New Orleans are willing to give it but it should be a lottery-protected.

The report also says that the Pelicans would also give center Alexis Ajinca to sweeten up the pot for the 76ers. Whether it is lottery-protected or not, Philadelphia would be a winner on this trade as they got a potential asset for their future aside from solving their problem on their big men. However, one report also suggests another way of making the deal between the 76ers and Pelicans works.

NJ.com reported that a Jahlil Okafor-Jrue Holiday direct swap may also work for both teams. Philadelphia is in dire need of a point guard right now while New Orleans would love to have a backup for Anthony Davis, making it feasible for both teams.

If the trade pushes thru, it would be a reunion of sorts for Holiday as he already played as a point guard for the 76ers franchise from 2009-2013. He is averaging impressive stats of 16.0 points, 7.4 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game this season that Philadelphia could take advantage.

Meanwhile, New Orleans will also benefit to Okafor's decent numbers of 11.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.0 block per game this season. He will also be a big addition to the Pelican's frontcourt that will be a big boost on their interior defense.

Will the Philadelphia 76ers trade Jahlil Okafor to the New Orleans Pelicans for Jrue Holiday?
