The Philadelphia 76ers continue to struggle in the ongoing regular season. Though they saw some brilliance lately, winning 6 out of their last 10 games, they are still at the bottom half of the Eastern Conference standing. Recent reports are now saying that they might trade Nerlens Noel to the Portland Trail Blazers before the trade deadline ends.

The Trail Blazers are precariously sitting at the 8th spot of Western Conference division holding an 18-25 win-loss record. It only means that they are not safe as the Denver Nuggets, Sacramento Kings, and New Orleans Pelicans are breathing down their neck for the last spot. And now, reports are saying that Noel could be a viable option for them.

Noel, who've been the subject of numerous trade deals last year, is again on the hot seat of rumor mills nowadays. And as the trade deadline is fast approaching, his name is said to be one of the many players that will be available in the trade market.

According to CBSSports, Nerlens Noel is among the players that could be a big steal on the trade market if ever the Philadelphia 76ers will decide to release him. Though the 76ers are not openly shopping Noel, many believed that there is already no space for him in the 76ers lineup and he is not engaged to the team for long-term.

And becoming a free agent after this season, heats up speculation that he might consequently be dealt by the 76ers and get a valuable asset in return rather than letting him go with nothing. And it seems that the Trail Blazers have shown interest in acquiring him.

According to NJ, as the 76ers have an overcrowded frontcourt of Noel, Joel Embiid, and Jahlil Okafor, it doesn't seem to make wonders for them. It could be a good move to the 76ers if they will let go one of them and it appears that Noel is likely to be the one to be release.

Now, it looks like the Portland Trail Blazers is possibly the destination for him who could give the best offer to the Philadelphia 76ers. Trade scenario is saying that Blazers will receive Noel plus multiple draft picks while the 76ers will acquire C.J. McCollum.

Having Noel on the Blazers roster will solve their problem on defense. Currently, the Blazers are in the 28th spot in terms of defensive efficiency which could be that reason of their inconsistency. Noel will surely fill in that gap aside from he is young, talented and athletic which is an upside for him.

On the other hand, the 76ers could make use of McCollum as an added offensive firepower. He is shooting a remarkable 42.4% in the three-point area and could pair with Ben Simmons in the backcourt once he came back from injury. He is perfect at shooting guard position while Simmons is said to be playing the point.

Will the Philadelphia 76ers trade Nerlens Noel to the Portland Trail Blazers for C.J. McCollum?
