The Thunder has surprised everyone and they are now looking to finish off the defending champion Warriors when these teams go head-to-head in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals at the Oracle Arena in California on Thursday night.
Oklahoma City owns a commanding 3-1 series lead and will look to win its second road game of the series to advance to the NBA Finals for the first time since falling to the Heat in five games in 2012.
Golden State, meanwhile, is the defending champion and could see a season where it won an NBA-record 73 games come to an end.
These teams split Games 1 and 2 with the Thunder drawing first blood in a Game 1 road win, and Oklahoma City followed it up by handing Golden State a 133-105 loss in Game 3 and a 188-94 defeat in Game 4.
Russell Westbrook set the pace with 36 points in the Game 4 win for the Thunder, while Kevin Durant dropped 26. Westbrook also had a team-best 11 assists as Durant added a game-high three blocks.
The Thunder have the Warriors right where they want them, down 3-1 in a position that only nine teams have been able to claw their way out from under in NBA history.
"Every game you have a sense of urgency, it's the playoffs and you know what everybody's playing for. We've just got to come out there and be who we are," Durant told ESPN. "We can't put too much pressure on ourselves. We have to go out, play the game, and play with passion and energy."
Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 26 points in the loss, while two-time and unanimous 2015-16 MVP Stephen Curry had 19. Draymond Green added 11 rebounds as Curry had five assists.
The Warriors know they have to do better than shooting a ghastly 41 percent and committing 21 turnovers like they did in Game 4, and they won't count themselves out.
"The series isn't over," Curry said after Game 4, according to ESPN. "We've got to believe in ourselves. There's obviously frustration. It's a terrible feeling once again not stepping up and being ourselves and playing our game. But I think we're a special team. This isn't how we're going to go out."
