Bill Goldberg WWE Return Rumors: 5 Potential 'WrestleMania 32' Opponents For Former World Champion [POLL, VIDEO]

Bill Goldberg speared his way into the hearts of many wrestling fans, but he hasn't been spotted in a WWE ring since 2004.

WrestleMania season is always a magical time and with the 32nd edition of the event set to go live from AT&T Stadium in Texas on April 3, it's the perfect time for Goldberg to return.

Vince McMahon 'Devastated' Over John Cena's Injury

Though the former WCW and WWE World Heavyweight Champion has had his issues with Vince McMahon's organization, there is still hope that they can work something out.

Here are potential WrestleMania opponents for Goldberg, should the two sides agree for him to return for a marquee match.

Goldberg Can Play Savior During WrestleMania Crisis

1) The Undertaker

Yes, "The Deadman" is currently slated to face Shane McMahon at WrestleMania, but as we all know, wrestling is filled with twists and turns. The WWE could have Shane-O-Mac bow out of the bout and put Goldberg against The Undertaker.

They could even have the "Demon from Death Valley" refuse to do Vince McMahon's bidding for him and side with Shane McMahon only for the boss to unveil Goldberg as his new charge.

2) 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin

This is the long shot of long shots, but the epic Austin vs. Goldberg clash never happened. If Austin would return for one more match, two of the biggest faces of the Monday Night Wars for WCW and WWE colliding would be the perfect stage.

This match would depend on both men's willingness to return, but the closest we ever got to them squaring off was when Austin served as the special guest referee for the Georgia native's last WWE match. Speaking of which:

3) Brock Lesnar

"The Beast" is slated to face Dean Ambrose, so this bout will likely have to tabled for a future WrestleMania. Still, Goldberg and "The Beast" deserve another crack at making up for their much-maligned bout at WrestleMania XX in 2004.

4) Chris Jericho

This match would be interesting due to the real-life implications behind it. "Y2J" and the former master of The Streak (173-0) got into a physical altercation during Goldberg's short WWE run.

Jericho has told the story on occasion, and the WWE could easily drudge up the drama outside of the ring to tell a compelling story inside of it.

5) Sting

"The Vigilante's" lone WrestleMania moment ended with a loss to Triple H. The WWE can give WCW one last hurrah by having Sting and Goldberg face-off on the grandest stage of them all. Hell, they've done enough ECW re-boots for a lifetime.

This would all depend on Sting's health as he hurt his neck in September, but with "The Vigilante" guaranteed to be in town for the Hall of Fame on the eve of WrestleMania, he can follow it up with his final act: a clash between two of WCW's greatest icons.

Who should Bill Goldberg face if he returned for 'WrestleMania 32?'
