James Harden, Khloe Kardashian Breakup: Newly-Single Rockets Guard Powers Houston To Playoff Position Following Split [VIDEO]

James Harden's highly-publicized relationship with Khloe Kardashian is officially over and now he can focus on basketball.

When the Rockets guard was initially linked to the reality star heading into this season, some of his early struggles were attributed to his new celebrity relationship. Well on Thursday, the recently-single star put his issues behind him.

Khloe Kardashian's Makeup Artist Releases Revealing Photo Of Her

Kardashian recently confirmed on her "Kocktails with Khloe" show that the relationship ended, revealing that the four-time NBA All-Star was unfaithful to her despite pushing for a monogamous relationship.

"He sought me out, he wanted to be committed," Kardashian said on her show this past week, "... then wasn't committed."

Kanye West Was 'Instrumental' In Lamar Odom's Recovery

The couple seemed doomed from the start, mostly because Kardashian surrounds herself with her exes and is still technically married to Lamar Odom.

With the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star growing closer to Odom following his near-fatal overdose in a Nevada brothel in October, it likely only made things more difficult on her long distance relationship with Harden.

Now that Harden is on his own, he's fully focused on lifting Houston into the playoff picture.

He did just that Thursday night, picking up game-highs with 46 points and eight assists. Thirty-four of Harden's points came in the second half as he powered the Rockets (29-29) to a 119-105 victory over the Trailblazers (30-30) as the Eastern Conference race gets tighter.

Houston currently holds down the eighth and final seed in the conference, with Utah (28-29) breathing down its neck and Portland barely ahead.

While Harden wasn't able to commit fully to Kardashian, his drive to help the Rockets escape their woes and make it into the NBA playoffs was on full display Thursday.
