LeBron James Rumors: King James Lying About Reason He Doesn't Want To Coach [VIDEO]

LeBron James is right, but LeBron James is also wrong.

The Cavaliers superstar bristled at the prospect of becoming an NBA head coach, in the wake of former player Jeff Hornacek's firing by the Suns, according to cleveland.com.

LeBron James' 'Coach Killer' Moniker Should Be Viewed As Compliment

"Man, I couldn't be a head coach," James said upon learning about Phoenix's situation. "Boy, I'll get blamed for every little thing. Can you imagine that? Please."

James has a point ... to a point. As cleveland.com points out, James already gets his fair share of blame for a lot of things involving his teams. There's no reason to believe he would get a break from that as a head coach.

David Blatt May Be Big Winner In Split With Cavaliers

But it's the unspoken part of James' quote that serves as the real reason he wouldn't want to become a head coach. King James wouldn't be King James if he were to be a team's coach. He'd be subject to the whims of his players, and he knows first-hand who wields the power.

LeBron knows that if he were to coach the next "Chosen One," that player likely could have him fired if he so chose. Of course, that player's front office would have to release a statement indicating he had no prior knowledge of James' dismissal.

The possible silver lining in that scenario would be that LeBron might actually end up relating with former Cavaliers coach David Blatt.

James also told cleveland.com he didn't mind having all the pressure placed on his shoulders as a player.

"It's the shoes that I've been put into it and I understand it, but it's not a distraction at all," James said of the scrutiny. "The only thing I'm worried about is winning. That's all that matters to me. Everything else comes secondary and that's all I'm about.

"So, I'm happy to be one of the leaders of this team, of this franchise, and we're going to go out and try to win every game and be great citizens off the floor and role models to these young kids that's looking up to us. All that other stuff, that stuff doesn't mean anything."

That's because James, more or less, has control over his situation. As a coach, that control would go away.
