Dirk Nowitzki Geico Parody Video: Dallas Mavericks Power Forward Plays Part Of Camel From Hump Day Commercial At Dallas Maverick's Offices [VIDEO]

Dirk Nowitzki traded in his basketball skills to try his hand at acting recently, as he played the part of the camel in the popular Geico "hump day" commercials at the Dallas Mavericks' offices recently.

In the spot, a pumped up Nowitzki walks through one of the team's offices and asks everyone he sees-including the team mascot--if they know what day it is as a parody to the popular Geico TV commercial, though there is one slight change. While the camel in the Geico spot is excited that it's hump day (Wednesday) because it has humps, Nowitzki is pumped that it's game day, because he's, well, a professional basketball player.

The commercial featuring Nowitzki can be viewed below:

The original Geico commercial containing a very excited camel can be seen here:

The commercial is incentive for people to get as pumped up as Nowitzki is for the upcoming NBA season and purchase season tickets.

The Mavericks could use something to get excited about after a subpar season last year that saw the team go 41-41 and miss the playoffs by finishing fourth in the Southwest division and 10th overall in the Western Conference. The Mavericks have endured two rather disappointing seasons since winning the NBA title in 2011, and look to do better in 2013-14.

Nowitzki, who was the Most Valuable Player of that NBA Finals, played in 53 games last season and had 917 points, 132 assists and 363 rebounds.

For Dallas, it all starts opening night against the Atlanta Falcons at home on Oct. 30.
