Manny Pacquiao Next Fight: Amir Khan Giving Up On Mayweather, May Face 'Pacman' In Dubai? [VIDEO]

While Manny Pacquiao recovers from shoulder surgery, Amir Khan is looking to pick up the pieces after another failed chase for a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight. Khan could stage a major fight in the U.K. vs. Kell Brook or take on fellow welterweight contender Keith Thurman, but Khan is currently thinking bigger, as in fighting Pacquiao.

"There have been talks of an Amir Khan fight in Dubai for years now," Khan said. "Everyone knows my position, I am ready to fight if they are serious about it. Bob Arum has contacted my team to fight Manny Pacquiao around March or April in Dubai. Let's see how that develops."

Khan was thought to be a frontrunner for Mayweather's fight date in September, but it appears like Mayweather has settled on former welterweight champion Andre Berto instead, a choice that has been unpopular among many fans and media members.

Berto has gone 3-3 in his last six fights, and two of his losses were against fighters Mayweather has already beaten in Victor Ortiz and Robert Guerrero. The other loss, by knockout, came against gatekeeper Jesus Soto Karass who had eight defeats on his resume when he fought Berto.

Khan's resume isn't perfect-he has three defeats, as well as two knockout losses to his name-but he is undefeated at welterweight in three fights vs. Luis Collazo, Devon Alexander and Chris Algieri, and has won five consecutive bouts since being KO'd by Danny Garcia.

"Since Floyd is running scared, I want Pacquiao in 2016 when he is back from injury," Khan said. "2016 will be Amir Khan's year. You will see me in two of the biggest fights in that year."
