Frank Mir is the ranked fighter in this matchup and the name that will be familiar with more fans, but Duffee comes into this bout with a reputation for carnage. He is 9-2 in his career, and every one of his wins has come by way of knockout. Mir has said Duffee is to blame if ticket sales are low for this event, but Duffee defended himself against that criticism.
"Everybody knows I'm an exciting fighter. Everybody wants to see me fight. You don't spend two years away from the sport and people still talk about you if you're not an exciting fighter. I just look at that as him trying to sell the fight."
Duffee's most recent fight vs. Anthony Hamilton was over in just 33 seconds. Previous fights have ended in seven seconds (Tim Hague) and 15 seconds (Jonathan Spears). He was also knocked out in 2010 by Alistair Overeem in less than 20 seconds, so his aggressive approach can work both ways.
Mir is not that kind of fighter. While he does have some power, Mir is more versatile in the octagon; 53 percent of his wins have come by submission, while decisions and knockouts are an even split for the rest of his wins.
