Joe McKnight Twitter News: New York Jets Running Back Gets Carted Off Practice Field, Has Tweeting Scrap With Critical Fan [PHOTO]

Joe McKnight's nightmarish training camp sunk to an all new low on Monday.

The New York Jets running back and return specialist was carted off the practice field after he collapsed and had to wear an oxygen mask.

Sadly for McKnight and the Jets, that wasn't the worst part of his day.

McKnight proceeded to get into a Twitter argument, while in the medical tent, with a user that he presumed was a member of the media covering the team. He asked the Twitter user, who he thought was a reporter, if he was outside of the tent so that they can settle the score.

According to USA, McKnight, who is recovering from a head injury and dehydration, dropped to a knee three times in the beginning of practice before trainers came over to check on him. The running back appeared to be fine and continued to practice in a red no-contact jersey. McKnight, 25, then participated in a drill 45 minutes later and fell down to the ground after diving for a pass.

After he collapsed, trainers rushed to him and brought him to the medical tent for an evaluation, and reports indicate trainers were also checking out McKnight's leg which he may have injured during the fall.

After the ordeal, angry tweets from a Twitter account not known as McKnight's verified handle began. The Jets confirmed the tweets actually were from McKnight, according to sources.

McKnight wrote from the account @Joejetlife: "Now I'm trying to keep my cool but now it has gone too far with these reporters. Just let y'all know I'm not the one. I know who you are."

When a fan with the handle of @bleedgreenjetzresponded with, "@Joejetlife about time you get released. Good luck. And stay healthy," McKnight appeared to challenge the fan, who he thought was a reporter, to a fight.

McKnight tweeted: "@bleedgreenjetz are you outside"

The collapse and Twitter war are just the latest in a wild training camp for McKnight. First, he showed up to camp out of shape and failed a conditioning test. After passing the test the next day, he eventually got hurt and has had trouble making it back on the field. Last week, it was reported that McKnight failed to pay some traffic tickets and was arrested. He had his car impounded and had to pay $320 to cover the expense of the tickets.

Now, McKnight is at war with the media. He wasn't available to talk to reporters Monday following his collapse according to USA Today, but he had very little to say to reporters and appeared hostile Sunday when the media tried to ask him about his injury.

A written dialogue of his latest media session can be seen here.

McKnight came back to watch the end of practice in shorts and a t-shirt Monday following his collapse and twitter spar.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan isn't sure if McKnight will make the team due to his health concerns, and the off the field antics probably aren't helping his case either.

"We've got a long way to go before we make the final decisions and things," Ryan said according to USA Today. "But Joe has led the league in kick returns. He has plenty of talent, but durability, there is concern about durability."

McKnight should focus his concerns on fighting for a roster spot, not fighting "reporters" on Twitter.
