Today at 1:10 p.m. ET, the Seattle Mariners (22-23) and Tampa Bay Rays (24-23) clash at Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay for the final meeting in a three-game series.
Seattle is looking for its third straight win as it closes out a nine-match road trip while Tampa Bay is looking to snap a four-game skid as it resumes a seven-contest road trip.
Felix Hernandez (7-1, 2.19 ERA) mans the mound for the Mariners while the Rays counter with Chris Archer on the bump and he is 5-4 with a 2.40 ERA thus far this season.
This game can be live streamed for free here.
Hernandez is coming in off of an outing where he held the Toronto Blue Jays to one run in seven innings while Archer has lost four of his starts this season at Tropicana Field, but is on a two-game winning streak.
Archer downplayed the importance of going up against Hernandez, who is once again off to a strong start.
"People have brought it to my attention, but I'm pitching against his lineup, and he's pitching against mine," Archer said per MLB.com. "I'm trying to give up zero runs, and I'm sure he's trying to give up zero runs. Maybe it will create a little more buzz in the stadium and some people will want to come to the game, because he's definitely an attraction."
Hernandez is tied for the MLB lead with seven wins and ranks fourth in the majors with a .875 winning percentage and fifth with a 0.94 WHIP.
Archer is third in the American League with five wins and second with 70 strikeouts.
Mariners designated hitter Nelson Cruz leads the majors with 17 homers and 119 total bases while he is second in slugging percentage (.680) and OPS (1.078). Cruz is also fourth in the entire league with 60 hits and fifth with a .343 batting average.
Rays shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera is tied for second in the AL with three triples thus far this season.
Tampa Bay enters play in second place in the AL East, half a game behind the first-place New York Yankees while Seattle comes into play in fourth place in the AL West, seven games behind the division-leading Houston Astros.
The Mariners and Rays close out a three-game set with matinee action live today from Tropicana Field in Florida.
