Twitter is turning into the devil.
A person with the Twitter handle @MasoneDylan rushed the field during the top of the fifth inning at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game 2013 on Tuesday at Citi Field in New York, Deadspin.com reported.
The fan, wearing a Robinson Cano T-Shirt tweeted that he would rush the field if his message got 1,000 retweets.
He got his wish, and despite his mother's objections via text, @MasoneDylan ran onto the field and reached second base where a security guard took him off his feet on a takedown near second base.
Deadspin.com discovered the tweeter and posted several of his tweets as he geared up for his 15 seconds of fame.
The fan apparently also was running out of power on his phone and was worried whether he'd be able to verify the 1,000th retweet. As he was getting closer to the number, the man tweeted that he'd have to see the 1,000th retweet before he'd make good on his promise.
"i have 24% i need to see it before my phone dies," was his response.
The most amusing part about his tweets were photos @MasoneDylan posted onto his account that Deadspin.com reposted, apparently from his mother, warning him not to leave his seat.
"U better not I will kick ur (expletive)," was the first message his mother sent on the subject.
His tweet reply read, "WHO SNITCHED?"
Later, when he informed his mother he received his 1,000 retweets, she responded:
"ldc, u better not."
"I'm not kidding I don't want u getting hurt."
"Dylan it's not funny that a serious thing and u could get arrested if not worse please don't b ridiculous"
@MasoneDylan did not heed his mother's advice.
Deadspin.com added that @MasoneDylan's girlfriend (@Haleyjohnsonx) weighed in:"I really should be upset right now but from dyls perspective this is the best day of his life lol"
