ROYALS vs YANKEES Watch Live Stream Online & Listen: Live Coverage from New York

The New York Yankees (49-42) are looking to split a four game series with the Kansas City Royals (43-45) today at Yankee Stadium at 1:05 p.m. Derek Jeter will be returning from his broken ankle suffered in October during the American League Championship Series in this matinee game, which can be live streamed here. Yankees fans can hear the game on WCBS 880 AM, while Royals fans can listen in on KCSP 610.

The Yankees welcome Jeter back with open arms today, as his replacements at shortstop have failed to deliver even a quarter of what the captain brought to the table last season.

In 2012, Jeter batted .316 and took home the Silver Slugger award for shortstops, while belting 15 home runs, driving in 58 RBI, and scoring 99 runs. Jeter sounded a slightly cautions, but more excited tone about his rejoining the big league club. "I do (feel I'm ready) but I said I was ready in January," Jeter said. "There are a lot of different situations that happened, but I felt good."

The Yankees brutal offense needs the boost Jeter figures to provide, even though last night the Bronx Bombers busted out, even getting a grand slam from Lyle Overbay. Robinson Cano, the team's lone slugger these days said of last night's outburst, "We needed that really bad."

They will send Andy Pettitte (6-6, 4.37 ERA) to the mound today against Ervin Santana (5-5, 2.90 ERA).

Santana has had a phenomenal season compared to his 2012 debacle, in which he was 9-13 with a 5.16 ERA. Pettitte, on the other hand, has not been the steady veteran the Yankees were counting on when they brought the 41-year-old back into the picture.

"I've been frustrated," he said. "Every decision you're making, you feel like it's not the right one."
