Floyd Mayweather Watch Collection [PHOTO]: Canelo Alvarez September 14 Opponent Shows Off Case Of Timepieces Worth $6.4 Million

When Floyd Mayweather Jr. was introduced to the boxing world, and for much of the early part of his career he was known as "Pretty Boy" Floyd. As time passed, and he became boxing's biggest draw, his changed his moniker to "Money" Mayweather, and started "The Money Team."

While promoting his upcoming superfight with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, Mayweather posted a photo of a case chock full of expensive watches...$6.4 million worth of watches to be precise. He captioned the photograph "It's all about having choices."

His gaudy horde of timepieces may seem extravagant, but money is not something Mayweather lacks. His recent 11-day promotional tour with Alvarez drew over 100,000 fans, and he pocketed $32 million for fighting Robert Guerrero this past May. The fight with Alvarez, which will be held at MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas, sold out in under 24 hours, breaking the all-time record for a live gate by $19 million. Tickets to the bout online are now reaching prices as high as $40,000.

Mayweather has been criticized in the past for the way he selects his opponents, often getting accused of ducking the toughest fights in order to preserve his spotless record, which currently stands at 44-0-0, with 26 knockouts.

The decision to face Alvarez, who is also undefeated at 42-0-1 with 30 knockouts, runs counter to those accusations. Alvarez is one of the most highly regarded fighters in his weight class, light middleweight, which is a step above where Mayweather likes to fight.

On top of being the naturally larger fighter, Alvarez is a heavy puncher with big time power. Unlike many power punchers, though, Alvarez is a very skilled boxer as well who does not rely on brawling.

At 22 years old, with experience beyond his years, Alvarez is confident he can and Mayweather the first loss of his career. "There are a lot of people who don't think I'm going to win, but on Sept. 14, you'll see that I will win," Alvarez said. "I've always wanted to be the best in the sport and I'm on my way. I couldn't let this opportunity go by, and I will take advantage of it."
