Boxing fans are eagerly awaiting an announcement on a Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao, and they might have been thrown a bone at last night’s Miami Heat game.
Mayweather and his camp have stated numerous times that Top Rank CEO Bob Arum is the biggest obstacle to making a fight happen, so when the two stars were both at the game they exchanged phone numbers, perhaps in an effort to continue talks amongst themselves. "He gave his number to me and said we will communicate with each other," Pacquiao said.
His adviser Michael Koncz called the two fighters being in attendance “purely a coincidence” and didn’t say much about their conversation. "We did meet and chat but I don't want to say what we discussed," Koncz said. It was a private discussion. They had a private, friendly discussion, and that's all I really want to say."

Pacquiao has spent all of 2015 thus far goading Mayweather into a super fight on Twitter with tweets like these.
I can easily beat @FloydMayweather, I believe that. — Manny Pacquiao (@MannyPacquiao) January 20, 2015
.@FloydMayweather, don't be a boxing humbug. Let's give the fans the fight they want. They have waited long enough. — Manny Pacquiao (@MannyPacquiao) December 16, 2014
After a rough patch in late 2012 and early 2013 Pacquiao has rebounded from two straight losses by racking up three straight dominant wins. His most dominant victory was a six-knockdown demolition of Chris Algieri, while the most important was avenging his 2012 loss to Tim Bradley in thorough fashion.
Mayweather remains undefeated, having beaten Marcos Maidana twice in 2014, and setting the record for highest-grossing fight of all time in 2013 against Canelo Alvarez.
