The Ottawa Senators will look to continue defending their home ice against the powerful Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at 7:30 p.m. inside Scotiabank Place, Ottawa. The game will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network and can be live streamed here for free. Penguins fans can tune into the game by turning their radio dials to 105.9 The X, while Senators fans can hear the action at The Team 1200.
The Senators have refused to lay down for the high-powered Penguins in these Eastern Conference semifinals, playing them down to the wire in Game 2 and taking care of business at home in a double-overtime Game 3 thriller.
After allowing Pittsburgh to score eight goals in the first two games, the Senators defense stiffened in Game 3, as the Penguins found the back of the net just once. Senators defenseman Marc Methot said, "We can't stray too far from our game plan. Last game in particular we were so strong defensively and that's a huge key. We know we're going to get our opportunities offensively in their own zone."
The other key is something that is far easier to say than to practice...keeping superstar Sidney Crosby out of the goals column. Despite missing the first game of the first round, Crosby has surged to the postseason lead in goals scored (6) where he is tied with teammate Pascal Dupuis and Patrick Sharp of the Chicago Blackhawks.
Crosby told reporters that it was important for the Penguins to make a statement in Game 4 and not allow the Senators confidence to continue overflowing. "You can see the desperation they have. They want to make sure it's 2-2 going back to Pittsburgh and obviously we know the scenario is to come here and get one of two on the road and go back home with a chance to finish off the series would be great."
