Tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET on NBA TV the Los Angeles Lakers (3-11) will host the Memphis Grizzlies (12-2) at the Staples Center in L.A. in a Western Conference matchup that fans can watch online here. Lakers fans can hear the radio broadcast on 710 ESPN, while Grizzlies fans may do likewise on 92.9 FM ESPN.
The Lakers could be in for a rough night against red-hot Grizzlies center Marc Gasol, who has scored 30-plus points in back-to-back games.
"He's very difficult to guard right now," coach Dave Joerger said after Memphis blew out the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday for their second straight victory. "We've got to find places on the floor where he can get it and get it cleanly. We're pretty good right now if we move the basketball and move ourselves, and let the defense have a chance to make a mistake."
The Lakes have surrendered more than 111 points a night so far this season, making them polar opposites of the stingy Grizzlies, who are giving up just 92 points a game.
The Lakers, meanwhile, have lost two straight games after putting together a two-game winning streak. Kobe Bryant, who is leading the NBA with 24 shot attempts per game, refused to be down on his teammates though.
"To me, we kind of felt a little flat, but we had some spurts where we had high energy and got into transition and stuff like that," Bryant said after a Sunday loss to the Nuggets. "We've been playing better as of late, outside of the Dallas game."
Bryant is averaging 26.7 points per game, the most in the NBA, but he will need some help from his teammates against the tough Grizzlies defense which will surely be keying on him.
