Floyd Mayweather Jr. Next Fight: Amir Khan 'Easy' Fight, Could Be First Opponent of 2015 [VIDEO]

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is done fighting in 2014, having defeated Marcos "El Chino" Maidana twice. Speculation about Mayweather's next fight began immediately after his unanimous decision win was announced in September though, and his father recently spoke to FightHype.com about what is coming next.

Amir Khan is the name that comes up most often to face Mayweather next, aside from Manny Pacquiao, and Mayweather Sr. seems to like the matchup with Khan.

"He might fight Amir Khan. Honestly, myself, I would like to see Floyd have a couple fights where he ain't fighting all these big, tough fighters. I'm not saying that Floyd's not going to fight the best, because that's all Floyd has fought is the best, but I'm saying right now, since he ain't but a couple fights before he ends his career, I'm just saying that maybe those couple of fights could be easy," Mayweather Sr. said.

Mayweather's last few fights have been against larger foes, most of them known as power punchers that lack elite hand speed. Khan is just the opposite; he believes his skills and quick hands are the solution to Mayweather's near-impenetrable defense.

Khan also has fought just once at welterweight, and has a reputation for a weak chin following knockout losses to Danny Garcia in 2012 and Breidis Prescott in 2008.

Pacquiao is slated to face Chris Algieri in China on November 2. If Pacquiao is able to beat Algieri, and especially if he earns his first knockout since 2009, the cries for Mayweather to finally fight Pacman will grow loud. Mayweather Sr. didn't rule out his son facing Pacquiao, but said it would be an easy fight.

"Matter of fact, whether he knows it or not, if he takes Pacquiao, that'll be an easy fight for him. Pacquiao can't whoop no damn Alvarez. Pacquiao can't whoop them big fighters Floyd's fighting; he can't whoop them guys, man. Them guys would beat the shit out of Pacquiao."
