Questions about Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III's viability as the starter compared to Kirk Cousins this preseason aren't going away after the 'Skins put up just six points in Week 1. New head coach Jay Gruden was criticized for the Redskins' game plan in the loss-despite Alfred Morris and Roy Helu running effectively, their rushing attempts were doubled by RGIII passes.

"If I had to do it all over again, I probably would have run the ball more than I did," Gruden said. Griffin, however, believes the team needs to get their deep threats more open downfield.

"We have got to find ways to open those guys up more down the field," Griffin said. "I don't think that's any secret. You want to be able to be efficient and hit the underneath stuff, but you also have to get those home run shots in every now and then. We'll work on getting that."

Wide receiver Pierre Garcon's outing epitomized the Redskins' struggles to hit the big play. He was successful in a fantasy football sense, reeling in 10 passes, but he only piled up 77 yards. The Jaguars defense looked more susceptible to bombs downfield than Houston though, which could mean a big day for free agent acquisition DeSean Jackson.

Making matters worse for Jacksonville, safety Jonathan Cyprien could miss time with a concussion. "Cyp is a great guy, and he's one of the leaders of this defense," reserve Josh Evans said.
